The Euroloop Valve Calibration Laboratory - Rotterdam

Shepcote Engineering specialist machining capability was called upon to finish machine a total of 55 metres of rolled and welded 316 grade stainless pipes for Dutch company Krohne's unique test facility. The Euroloop Valve Calibration Laboratory, situated in Rotterdam, is a large state of the art test complex dedicated to the testing and calibration of large flow meters for the oil and gas industry.

The un-paralleled ability of Shepcote Engineering to turn, deep hole bore and finish hone large pipes was required to finish machine pipes of 1120mm bore in 3, 4 and 5 metre lengths. The tubes required stress relieving after deep hole boring to size. The tubes were then honed to a tolerance of 0.25mm before being turned and drilled. Finally the tubes were assembled in pairs and honed again to blend in the joints to achieve an uninterrupted bore through the whole 55 metre long assembly critical for the smooth passage of the calibration piston in use.

Shepcote personnel were on hand at site in Rotterdam to assist in the final assembly and checking.
