Proud to be associated with 'Made in Sheffield'
Shepcote Engineering recently became a member of the organisation 'Made in Sheffield' declaring their proud Sheffield credentials.
The phrase 'made in Sheffield' is famous worldwide for meaning quality in both materials and workmanship.
Shepcote Engineering proudly adhere to those principles of being committed to quality and excellence.
Shepcote successfully complete large contract.
Shepcote Engineering has successfully completed a large contract to machine, assemble and test a range of 20" bore riser joints for offshore specialists SubSea Riser Products.
Ranging in length up to 11 meters the highly challenging work was made easier by the use of a 24" hollow spindle lathe. The newly acquired lathe, a significant investment by the company, was bought specifically for this type of work.
Our ability to machine all types of material up to 25 meters in length is now attracting a great deal of interest particularly from the offshore sector. With a through the chuck capacity of 24" we believe this to be one of the largest hollow spindle lathes anywhere in the world today.
Order for 288te hydraulic cylinders completed on time.
Another job well done! An order to supply 6 of 350mm bore x 200mm rod x 600mm stroke hydraulic cylinders has now been completed and delivered to our customer. The bespoke cylinders which were designed and manufactured in house, are for use in a tensile testing machine for wire rope.
The first part of Euroloop contract completed.
Shepcote Engineering has now completed the first stage of our contract to supply Dutch company Krohne Oil and Gas BV with large bore stainless pipe.
The first part of the order which consists of a total of 570mm bore in 5 meter lengths to make up the finished assembly of 45 metres, have already been despatched and installed on site at the Euroloop project in Rotterdam. Each piece of material was bored, honed, turned and then drilled before sections were bolted together to form 11 meter lengths.
The bores were then honed once more for even greater accuracy and fit over the assembled length. The finished sections were then shipped to Rotterdam where Shepcote Engineers oversaw the final assembly.
We are currently working on the second phase which is to machine another 45 meters of pipe, this time using 1200mm bore material.
The Euroloop project will be the world's largest calibration unit for flow meters used in the oil and gas industry.
500te hydraulic cylinder order won
Another order to supply large hydraulic cylinders to the oil industry has been won. The pair of cylinders for use in a test facility will be required to produce 500te each.
New contract to machine riser joints
Shepcote Engineering's unique machining capacity is gaining further interests in the offshore sector as demand increases for the finish machining of ever longer pieces of exotic materials. As a result of our recent success in machining large riser joints another contract has been won, this time for Cameron UK.
Shepcote's expansion continues with new capital purchase.
The expansion of Shepcote Engineering continues with the purchase of a new Hollow Spindle CNC Lathe. Having a spindle capacity of 24" it is believed to be the largest machine of its type available for sub contract work in the U.K. and is due to be delivered in April 2009.
