Hydraulic Cylinder for New Test Rig
As the demand for wind power increases and the technology develops, so does the size of wind farms and the wind turbines on them. This particularly applies to offshore wind turbines. The blades are huge and consequently must be fatigue tested.
Existing test facilities were unable to accomodate the size of the wind turbines and so new test facilities have been constructed. The new test rig required a cylinder with a bore of 800mm, 450mm dia piston rod and a stroke of 1,900mm.
Shepcote Engineering were chosen to supply the hydraulic cylinder for the new test rig because we are acknowledged experts in making large hydraulic cylinders.
