Scotrenewables SR2000: The World's Largest Tidal Turbine.

Shepcote Engineering have recently completed the design and manufacture of the cylinders for the world's largest tidal turbine.

SR2000 tidal energy project

The SR2000, with a rated power of 2000kw has been designed to DNV (Det Norske Veritas) standards with a 20 year design life.

The 320mm bore, 250mm rod x 4985mm stroke cylinders are used to deploy the 3.8 m rotors into their working position and to retract them for transportation.

Shepcote Engineering were chosen to supply the cylinders for this project following successful and extensive two year trials of the SR250 prototype which had cylinders designed and manufactured by Shepcote Engineering.
